SOCIAL SCIENCES

Faculty of Social Science, Sindh Institute of Management and Technology Karachi is a newly established faculty. Sindh Institute of Management and Technology is proud of its Social Sciences program where high profile faculty members including PhD Professors are engaged to supervise, guide and help young scholars in conducting their Research program like Projects and Theses. We want to put Pakistan on the research map of the world.

Education and other Social Sciences Programs at Sindh Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT) prepare unconventional, capable, dynamic, creative, democratic, and innovative/research minded professionals and teachers to meet the socio-economic and educational needs of the society through quality education at affordable cost.

OUR MISSION:

The mission of SIMT is to provide exemplary programs that help teachers and other professionals make effective decisions in diverse contexts. Program is derived from latest research theories and best practices and designed to meet the current and emerging educational and social needs of educational institutions at local provincial and national levels. The program offers a curriculum that recognizes its egalitarians and humanistic orientations and the relationship between educations and society. It give due importance to existing knowledge about learning and teaching and multidisciplinary role of technology in instruction and upcoming challengers by developing professional and pedagogical research based knowledge on existing and emerging theories and application of required knowledge and skill in diverse educational setting.

RULES AND REGULATION 

ADMISSION POLICY:

Admissions to all programs at SIMT are given on merit basis, which are determined on the basis of academic qualification, entrance tests and interviews.

ADMISSION SCHEDULE:

Admission in different program are offered in spring (February/ March/) Summer (May/ June) and Fall (August/ September) Semester through advertisements at least 30 days before the commencement of each semester.

ATTENDANCE:

The attendance requirement is 75%, Relaxation, if any shall be given in accordance with the rules and regulation of institute.

EXAMINATION:

The assessment is based on assignment, presentation, mid-term test and final examination.

DEGREE REQUIREMENT:

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is minimum 2.5, calculated for all semester.

PROMOTION:

Student shall not be promoted to the next semester unless they pass 75% of the courses, i.e. any who has failed in more than one subject shall not be promoted to next semester without clearing the subjects in General Special Examination. Below 60% marks in a subject shall be considered “fail”

B-Ed : 2.5 YEARS

B-Ed: 1.5 YEARS

M-Ed: 1 YEAR

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Intermediate or Equivalent with minimum 2nd division

MASTER OF EDUCATION (M. ED.) PROGRAM

SIMT offers M.Ed. program comprising of 30 credit hours, consisting of 27 credits of course work and a thesis of 3 credit hours.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

B. Ed. Degree from a recognized university with 2nd division

 

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (B.Ed. Hons.) 4 Years
Eligibility Criteria
1.     FA/F.Sc/ A levels with minimum 2nd Division. 
2.     FA/F.Sc/ A levels with school subjects. 
Duration:  4 years (8 Semesters) 
Semester Duration:  16-18 weeks
Course Load per semester:  15-18 Cr hr 
Number of Courses per semester:  5-6 (not more than 3 lab/ practical courses)
